The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced the schedule of the Men’s Hockey World League Semi-Final 2017 in London, England where Canada will be one of ten teams competing for 2018 World Cup Qualification.
Additionally, tickets are on sale for the competition and can be purchased by day here.
Canada’s men – currently ranked 11th in the world – are grouped in Pool B with India (6), Netherlands (4), Pakistan (13), and Scotland (23).
Canada opens the competition on Day 2, June 16, with a match against Pakistan at 6:00pm local time.
The Canadians are back in action on Day 3, June 17, when they face India at 2:00pm, before a rest day on June 18 prior to playing on back to back days June 19 and 20 when they face the Netherlands (2:00pm) and Scotland (12:00pm) respectively to close out pool play.
The competition is setup in a quarterfinal format, with the top four teams in each group moving on to play in the June 22nd quarterfinals.
The Semi-Finals will be played on June 24, and the final matches June 25.
The top teams from London will qualify for two of hockey’s showpiece events – the Odisha Men’s Hockey World League Final Bhubaneswar 2017 and the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018, both in India.
