Paul Wharton a joué son premier match pour le Canada en 2012. Il a remporté une médaille d’argent avec le Canada au Championnat panaméricain junior en 2012 et il a ensuite participé à la Coupe du Monde junior de la FIH en 2013.

En 2014, il a aidé le Canada à prendre le deuxième rang au Défi des Champions en Malaisie et il a fait ses débuts dans degrands jeux aux Jeux du Commonwealth à Glasgow.

En 2015, Wharton a fait partie de l’équipe canadienne qui s’est qualifiée pour les Jeux olympiques de 2016 en prenant le quatrième rang du tournoi de troisième ronde de la Ligue mondiale en Argentine. Il a aussi participé aux Jeux panaméricains de Toronto 2015, disputant son 50e match international lors de cette compétition et aidant le Canada à remporter la médaille d’argent.

Paul Wharton made his debut with Canada in 2012. He won a silver medal with Canada at the 2012 Junior Pan American Championship and then competed at the 2013 FIH Junior World Cup.

In 2014 he helped Canada finish second at the Champions Challenge 1 in Malaysia and then made his international multi-sport competition debut at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

In 2015, Wharton was a part of the team that qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games by finishing fourth at World League Round 4 in Argentina. He also appeared at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto, playing in his 50th in international match and helping Canada to a silver medal.
