After a tough 2 -3 loss to host India, the Canadian Men’s National Team is determined to defeat France in Friday’s match. Canada’s Women are fourth in their pool after one win, one draw and two losses.
“Originally we were looking to take 18 players to Chile, but after seeing the quality of performance at last week’s training camp, we decided to give 21 athletes the chance to present themselves on the international stage.”
On Sunday, Stephanie Jameson put on the Team Canada jersey for the 164th time – surpassing the Women’s Canadian Cap Record holder, Laurelee “Jumbo” Kopeck.

Canadian Team Captains Katie Baker and Ken Pereira were at the famous India Gate for the “presentation of the trophies” in preparation for the FIH Road to London, which begins tomorrow.
Members of the University of Guelph Field Hockey Team are cutting their locks… again. On March 10th, the team’s 2nd Annual “Cut for the Cure” event will take place, with all eyes on beating last year’s total of $6000 raised. The timing coincides with the recent launch of FHC’s Play It Forward program.
The Men represented Canada at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, and they are hungry for another Olympic berth. Team Canada Women are eager to end a 20-year Olympic drought. Both teams have been focused on qualifying for London since the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
