Singapore, ranked #41 in the FIH World Ranking was contacted to join the six team men’s qualification group after the United States unexpectedly pulled out of the event.
Anne Merklinger, whose impressive career in high-performance sport spans more than four decades as an athlete and leader, has been named to a key leadership position for high-performance sport in Canada as the chief executive officer of Own the Podium, chairman John Furlong announced Thursday on behalf of the organization’s Board of Directors.
“Our goal is clear but the road to success will not be an easy one – especially as we face India. We look forward to battling for every point in a fantastic venue in front of some of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans in the world.”
“Having had the pleasure of working with the Men’s National Team for a number of years, I am looking forward to helping the national program as a whole enhance our injury prevention and treatment services,” says Dunlop.
“We’ll give it everything we have, everyday until February 26,” says Team Captain Katie Baker.
“Expectations from Peter and his coaching staff were clear from the get-go – this was preparation for our ultimate goal – the Junior World Cup.”

The camp will be at Stanford University in California from December 28th to January 4th.
