Commonwealth Games Send-Off Celebration

Field Hockey Canada is pleased to invite you to a send off celebration for our Canadian Men’s and Women’s Field Hockey Teams competing at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India.

The celebration will take place at 8:00pm on Friday, September 17th at Sutton Place Hotel – Ball Room at 845 Burrard Street in Vancouver.  There will be a chocolate buffet, silent auction, and cash bar.

Tickets are $50 each (a $25 tax receipt will be issued)…

Field Hockey Canada and head coach Nick Sandhu are pleased to announce the 24 athletes who have been named to the Junior Women’s National training squad.  The selection comes after 40 athletes participated in a national camp from August 10 – 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The athletes named to the training squad will have the opportunity to compete for a position on the team which will play against the United States Under-19 Team in March 2011…

Field Hockey Canada and the National Women’s Field Hockey Team would like to thank the Canadian Athletes Now Fund (CAN Fund) for their financial contribution to five women’s team members on their Summer 2010 Athlete Recipient list.

CAN Fund is a not for profit organization devoted solely to raising funds and awareness for Canadian athletes.  It has raised over $11 million, and directly supports hundreds of Canadian athletes from coast to coast…

Wayne Fernandes, a veteran of the Men’s National Team, has decided to hang up his cleats and put away his stick.  After 14 years with the Senior National Team, Wayne is beginning a new chapter in his life.  He has been an integral part of the team’s success and his “retirement will definitely leave a hole in the squad” says Louis Mendonca…
