JOIN OUR JOURNEY – SHARE OUR SUCCESS

From youth to masters, our international teams are succeeding at all levels of our expanding talent pathway. As an amateur sport, this international success is supported by an incredible local field hockey community, with our athletes and staff working together to raise funds to support our national teams. Athletes do so while juggling work, study and committing to our high-performance training schedule. This complete immersion and dedication towards international success is just one of the reasons we believe local companies within our community will be proud to partner with us as we continue our journey towards ever increasing international success.

CEO Susan Ahrens recognizes that international hockey experience is a commitment, and an all-encompassing lifestyle for our athletes. It’s one that Field Hockey Canada supports at all levels and continues to build out the organization to support.

“It’s the entire experience from long trainings, to traveling with your teammates. It’s incredible victories and heartbreaking defeats. Our athletes become best friends and family along the way. There’s nothing better than pursuing amateur sport at the highest level and that feeling of belonging as you drive towards a common goal,” Ahrens said. “It builds incredible, driven, creative and thoughtful people. This is our community, and we want to do everything we can to support our athletes.”

FIELD HOCKEY CANADA NATIONAL PROGRAMS FLOURISH AT ALL LEVELS

Our Senior National Teams continue to reach new heights. In 2022, The Canadian Women’s National Team qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 28 years and are coming off back-to-back top five finishes at the Commonwealth Games. They are reining Pan American silver medalists. The Canadian Men’s National Team is the reigning Pan American silver medalists. The Red Caribou has qualified for back-to-back Olympic Games in 2016 and 2020 and are now striving for a historical third consecutive Olympic Games.

Both National Teams are now firmly focused on the upcoming Olympics in Paris 2024. With world-class leadership guiding them – Olympic Gold Medal winner Danny Kerry (WNT), and Pan American Continental Championship winner Patrick Tshutshani (MNT) – they are well placed to succeed.

High Performance Director, Emma Bray talks about the HP team at Field Hockey Canada, and how she expects incredible things in the coming years.

“The high-performance pipeline is already showing sparks of success.” Bray said. “We have incredible people in place with high expectations and an amazing work ethic. As we continue to consistently drive forward together, our performance environment will ignite into an unstoppable force.”

THE NEXT GENERATION OF CANADIAN STARS

Our next generation of international hockey players are already achieving new heights. The women’s program won Canada’s first Junior Pan American gold in 2021. This year, the women’s and men’s programs recently qualified for the Junior World Cup, making it the first time that the Canadian sides have both qualified for back-to-back Junior World Cups in Canadian hockey history.
