Giving Tuesday is the world’s largest generosity movement. On this annual day, organizations, and individuals from across the globe come together to support one another’s efforts. This movement provides a platform to elevate fundraising and encourages others to give their time, resources and talents to support a cause they are passionate about.
Giving Tuesday has active movements in more than 80 countries, working year-round to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to create a world where giving is part of everyday life.
This giving season Field Hockey Canada aims to spread the word about our Giving Tuesday campaigns to support our national teams in their international hockey journeys towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Field Hockey Canada CEO, Susan Ahrens, said that this national month of giving goes a long way to supporting our national teams on their pathway to international success.
“It’s incredible to see the hockey community support each other. We all know that playing amateur sports at the international level can be an expensive endeavour,” Ahrens said. “We rely on government funding, sponsorship support and donations to send all our national teams to international competitions around the world. Your donation means the world to these athletes. By donating this November, you are actively supporting the dreams of our international athletes.”
Each week in November we will spotlight one of our teams so you can learn more about how your donations will support their endeavours. You can learn more at our Giving Tuesday web-hub.
