The first game for Canada at the 23rd edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia was contested for in front of an enthusiastic crowd in Ipoh on a hot and humid Malaysian night. After months of preparation the Canadians started with fast and furious play.
After matches against the USA on Monday and Tuesday, it is an off day for Field Hockey Canada Women’s National team; an opportunity to rest, recover and review for the second half of the Canadian-American Series being held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Canada (men and women) play three games against the USA as preparation for the 2014 Indoor Pan American Cup, April 7-12 in Montevideo
It is the intention that this appointment will lead to further opportunities within the Field Hockey Canada Men’s National Team Program.
Invited to play in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia, one of the world’s most prestigious field hockey tournaments, the Canadian Men were also asked to compete against the hosts in a 3-game pre-tournament series.
Note to Canadian fans: to be a spectator, field hockey enthusiasts will be able to attend on a first-come, first-service basis, attendance will be limited to 500 attendees. Tickets are complementary but require preregistration through this link.
