2010 Women’s National Team Carding Camp Report November 22, 2010 This Year’s Women’s National Carding Camp was held from November 9th-14th in Vancouver and consisted of players from across Canada. After a heaven-like sleep-in, of an extra thirty minutes (waking at 8:15), the team took off for their routine pre-game run and stretches; lead by the illustrious captain, Taylor Curran. He took the team down a familiar route, passed the Mexican restaurant and Carl’s Jr. joint, to a parking lot next to a run-down Catholic church. There they ran a few laps of, what seemed like, the five-mile track that early in the morning. We woke up at 7:45 for our first pre-game morning jog.
Preparing for our first match against the USA was totally necessary as none of us wanted to start off the series with a loss. We had our Holiday Inn’s signature breakfast, complete with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and the key to our success, those perfect cinnamon rolls. Continuing with our pre-game preparation, Coach Aaron presented our game plan complete with chalk board diagrams and video clips – which I found very informative…
