Ian Rutledge looks forward to WNT Training Camps

Earlier this month, Ian Rutledge and family arrived in Vancouver, BC to begin his new role as Head Coach of the Women’s National Team. We recently caught up with Coach Rutledge to hear his thoughts on life in Canada and working with the Women’s National Team.

We are calling on athletes, coaches, officials, alumni, friends, parents and teams to rally around our National Teams as they pursue the podium and inspire the next generations of Canadian field hockey athletes! By providing financial and moral support for our National Teams – we can support our athletes as they focus on training, competing and winning.

COE Teams compete in Girls 9 A-Side tournament

Three of Field Hockey Canada’s Centres of Excellence Teams will go head to head in today’s FHC COE Girls 9 A-Side tournament. The public is free to attend and cheer on their local COE Team!

Ian Rutledge to lead Women’s National Team

“I am very excited to assist a group of young and aspiring athletes achieve their Olympic dreams,” says Rutledge. “I am looking forward to bringing my passion, skills and experience to a proud and growing hockey nation that has set some ambitious goals.”

Team Tamanawis wins FHC COE Invitational

There are currently three Centres of Excellence in operation for women, with sites at the University of Victoria, Tamanawis and Ambleside. In addition to teams representing each COE, three lower mainland clubs competed in the Invitational, including the Hawks Club, West Vancouver Field Hockey Club and the Delta Falcons.

Women’s National Program hosts Training Camps

The Senior National Camp will take place March 27 – 31, 2013 at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. The Under-21 National Camp will run March 28 – 31, 2013 at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

Apply to officiate at the 2013 Field Hockey Canada National Championships!

Field Hockey Canada is seeking umpires and technical officials to participate in the 2013 National Championships in Brampton, ON and Vancouver, BC this summer. The deadline to apply is March 15.
