Two shutouts for Canada
The Women’s National Team has started out well in the 2012 FIH World League Round 1 in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago scoring 22 goals in their first two matches – both shutouts. On Monday they were victorious over Guyana, winning 10 to 0.
Women come out strong at World League
The Women’s National Team took to the field today against Venezuela for their first match of the FIH World League Round 1. Dickinson, Karringten and Sandhu scored their first international goals for Canada. In addition, first international caps were earned by Angela Lancaster, Rachel Donohoe and Lauren Logush.
Coach Ahrens announces Men’s Target 2017 Team
After months of travelling across the country in search of the most promising up-and-coming field hockey athletes under the age of 17, Men’s Junior National Head Coach Mathias Ahrens has selected a group of 21 athletes to represent Canada on the Men’s Junior National Target 2017 Team.
Game for the Cure raises over $4,000
Last month, a group of young women in the Tri-Cities field hockey community set out to raise $3,500 for the BC Cancer Foundation through the 4th Annual Field Hockey Game for the Cure. Following the event on Sunday, this group has exceeded their goal – raising over $4,100!

The top-seeded University of British Columbia Thunderbirds capped off an undefeated season with a 3-0 gold-medal win over the No. 2 and tournament host Toronto Varsity Blues in the final of the 2012 FHC-CIS women’s field hockey championship, Sunday afternoon at Varsity Centre.
