Since officially announcing her retirement from the Women’s National Team in June, a lot has changed for Diana Roemer – including her name. On September 28th, Diana tied the knot with Josh Larson in Agassiz, British Columbia to become Mrs. Diana Larson. The drive and hard work that Di brought to Team Canada will now be directed toward the couple’s long-time dream of running their own cattle raising business, JTL Cattle Company, in Chilliwack.
Amazingly talented athlete. Fierce competitor. Passionate leader. Over the past six years, Katie Baker has had an incredible impact on the Women’s National Team. Baker has officially announced her retirement from Team Canada. Though she moves on, her leadership as Team Captain and competitive spirit have truly transformed the culture of the Women’s National Program.
Canadian Men’s Junior National Head Coach Mathias Ahrens will be in Calgary, Alberta on October 12th – 14th to conduct a National Identification Camp. All Field Hockey Alberta boys born within 1995 to 1998 are invited to participate.
Canada sent six officials to the recent Pan American Junior Championships. Technical Officer Tony Stewart, Assistant Umpire Manager Sumesh Putra and Umpire Gavin Caldecott were on the men’s side. For the women’s tournament, Tournament Director Madge Johnson, Assistant Umpire Manager Chris Wilson and Umpire Megan Robertson represented Canada.

They were well represented at the 2012 Pan American Junior Championships – loud, proud, decked out in red and white, sporting the maple leaf. Parents of the Canadian Junior National Teams were out in full-force throughout the tournament, cheering the Junior Men and Women to silver medals and berths to the 2013 Junior World Cup.
After two weeks of competition at the 2012 Pan American Junior Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico – the Men’s and Women’s Junior National Teams walk away with berths to the 2013 Junior World Cup and silver medals.
Field Hockey Canada alumna, Joel Brough, was inducted into the York University Sport Hall of Fame on Friday. Brough was part of the Canadian Women’s National Team from 1989 – 1995 and represented Canada at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
