Carding camp begins for women’s national squad

VANCOUVER – The camp to determine the 2011 carding selections for the women’s national team begins today in Vancouver. Successful athletes will receive financial assistance under Sport Canada’s Athlete Assistance Program during the January 1 – December 31, 2011 carding cycle.
The camp will run until Sunday, November 14th and include practices, fitness testing, meetings, and inter-quad matches…
Women’s National Team release 2011 Calendar

OTTAWA – The Canadian women’s national field hockey team look to have a busy 2011 according to a preliminary event calendar released today by Field Hockey Canada.
The Canadians will kick off the new year with a 4-Match Test Series versus the United States mid January in California.
In May 8 – 14 the team will be in Vienna, Austria to compete in the Champions Challenge II. The CCII tour will be preceded by a selection camp in British Columbia…

GUELPH, Ont. (CIS) – Katherine McNeill scored with four minutes left in regulation to lead the third-seeded University of Toronto Varsity Blues to the 11th CIS women’s field hockey title in team history thanks to a 2-1 win over the defending champion UBC Thunderbirds, Sunday afternoon.

The Video Library is a joint project between the FIH Umpiring Committee and the Hockey Rules Board, the objective of which is to provide a collection of video clips which demonstrate the Rules of Hockey and their current interpretations.

Field Hockey Canada would like to thank Yan Huckendubler for his outstanding work and support to FHC both leading up to and during the Commonwealth Games. Yan was named as the media attaché for Canadian field hockey (as well as archery, boxing, and table tennis) by Commonwealth Games Canada.
