Canadian Men’s National Indoor Program Identification Camp

Field Hockey Canada will hold a national identification camp October 16th and 17th in Toronto for the Canadian Men’s Indoor National team. This is an open identification camp open to all players that meet the eligibility criteria. Details for the identification camp are provided below.  The purpose of the camp is to identify a squad of players that will train towards the goal of making the Canadian National Indoor Team that will participate in the Indoor World Cup in Poznan, Poland in February 2011…

The send-off celebration for the men’s and women’s Commonwealth Games field hockey teams took place last Friday evening and was a terrific success.  Field Hockey Canada would like to thank everyone who came out to support the athletes who will be departing for Delhi, India at the end of the week.

KINGSTON, Ontario, September 18, 2010 – Commonwealth Games Canada and Field Hockey Canada are proud to announce that men’s field hockey captain, Ken Pereira, has been named Team Canada Flag Bearer for the XIXth Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. The announcement was made during CBC Television’s Sports Day in Canada broadcast from Kingston, Ontario.

Janet Ellis (Burnaby – Technical Officer) and Wendy Stewart (Umpire – Calgary) have just wrapped up their participation in the 2010 FIH Women’s World Cup in Rosario, Argentina on Sunday.

Brenda Rushton (Judge – Victoria), Gillian Batey (Umpire – Victoria), and John Hrytsak (Umpire – Calgary) will be officiating in the 2010 Commonwealth Games October 3 – 14 in India.

Wendy Stewart (Calgary) and John Hrytsak (Calgary) have been appointed to umpire at the 2011 FIH Indoor World Cups for men and women to be held in Poznan, Poland this coming February.

Field Hockey Canada is pleased to invite you to a send off celebration for our Canadian Men’s and Women’s Field Hockey Teams competing at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India.

The celebration will take place at 8:00pm on Friday, September 17th at Sutton Place Hotel – Ball Room at 845 Burrard Street in Vancouver.  There will be a chocolate buffet, silent auction, and cash bar.

Tickets are $50 each (a $25 tax receipt will be issued)…
