2010 FHC National Championships: Rule Variations

Effective as of this date the following variations to the Rules of Hockey and Tournament Regulations at the 2010 Senior and U16 National Championships will apply:
a) Green Card – Two Minute Suspension
For any offence, the offending player may be warned (indicated by a green card).
Where a green card is issued the offending player shall be temporarily suspended for two (2) minutes.
During the period of temporary suspension of a player, the team shall play with one less player…

The Canadian women’s national team played the final match of a 4 game test series, at UBC on Father’s day against the Indian National team. This wrapped up a great weekend on the pitch. In the first half Team India got on the board by capitalizing on a penalty corner in the 11th minute. However, it didn’t take the Canadian’s long to respond. A penalty stroke was rewarded two minutes later and D. Roemer scored to tie the game at one.
In the second half India came out strong and went ahead after a free play goal at the 42nd minute mark…
India defeats Canada in Surrey

The Canadian women’s national team were defeated 4-1 by India in the third match of the Canada-India Cup 2010 from Surrey, British Columbia. Game four occurs at 4:00pm (PST) in Vancouver today.
Azelia Liu was called upon early to make a couple of saves, however, Canada settled down and scored the first goal of the game in the 10th minute on a penalty corner on a nice deflection by Anna Kozniuk.
India received the next 4 penalty corners of the game and they scored on the fourth one at the 17th minute mark…

Game two of the Canada-India series will always be special for nineteen year old Kelowna native, Danielle Hennig. The rookie made her debut not only for the Canadian national team but also on the forward line. Growing up, Hennig mostly played soccer and her athleticism and fitness transferred over to field hockey in grade 7 at Dr. Knox middle school and further at Kelowna Secondary school.

Anna Kozniuk says she was up to the challenge of trying to crack the blue-line of Canada’s hugely successful women’s hockey team, the gold medallists at the 2010 Olympics.
