Jr. Men to compete in Jr. Pan Am Championship

The Canadian Junior Men are hoping to secure one of two tickets to the Junior World Cup. Canada finished fourth at the 2008 Junior Pan American Championship behind Argentina, Chile and the USA. However, in the past year this Junior Squad has proven their ability to defeat formidable Pan Am opponents.

BC Blue claims GOLD - Ontario takes SILVER at 2012 U18 National Championships in Calgary

The five day tournament concluded on Sunday after 24 exciting matches. In the final match, BC Blue defeated Ontario 4 – 1 to claim gold. BC White earned bronze after a 4 – 1 win over BC Yellow.

2012 Field Hockey Canada Under 18 National Championships underway in Calgary

This year showcases athletes from coast to coast. Nine women’s teams will compete, representing Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. There are two teams from Alberta and three from British Columbia. The U18 National Championships will feature many athletes on the Canadian Women’s Junior Under 17 Team.

Junior Men compete in 3 Nations Tournament

The pressure is on. As the Canadian Men’s Jr. National Team competes in this week’s 3 Nations Tournament in Vancouver, each athlete will be giving it all they’ve got in hopes of being selected to compete for Canada at the 2012 Jr. Pan American Championships in September.

“It was very good to see so many young, up and coming players,” says Mathias. “Ontario has many committed and talented players. There are already some athletes that definitely have potential to take the step up to the national level.”

The Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) is pleased to invite Coaches of the Continent to join the Indoor Hockey Coaching Course during the Indoor Pan American Championship (Men and Women) that will be held from August 29 to September 02, 2012 at Puerto Montt, Chile.
