Women’s Indoor Team to hold Golf Tournament

The Canadian women’s national indoor field hockey team will be holding a golf tournament on June 25th, 2010 at the Glen Eagle Golf Club in Caledon, Ontario. Funds raised will go to support the team’s trip to the World Cup Qualifier in Venezuela this August.

Following the U16 Men’s Team BC trials held on May 1st & 2nd, FHBC is pleased to announce the athletes who have been selected to the Men’s U16 BC Blue Team and the Men’s U16 BC White team.

Canada wraps up Australian Series in Toronto

The Canadian men’s and women’s indoor national squads completed their Series with Australia over the weekend. Both teams experienced quality competitive games contributing to their preparations for the World Cup Qualifier.

The Australian men’s and women’s indoor national teams each earned another victory over their Canadian counterparts in the last matches played at Ryerson University on Thursday evening.
Jessica Buttinger scored the lone goal for the Canadians as the Aussies won the first of three test matches between the two sides by a score of 9 – 1. Canada’s Emily Rix and Australia’s Mel Eastwood were named players of the game for both teams…

FHC is asking our membership to submit their nominations for the Men’s Olympic Endowment Fund Trustee (1 Position), Women’s High Performance Legacy Fund Trustee (3 Positions), and FHC Board of Directors (1 Elected Position, 2 Appointed).
FHC is also asking our membership to submit any motions to amend or repeal the Bylaws of Field Hockey Canada…

The Australian’s faced a completely different Canadian side Wednesday night in the last Exhibition match before the official test series begins. Both teams were taking an opportunity to rest some of their more senior players but both sides were still out to compete and showed several moments of great indoor hockey. The Canadian men’s and women’s indoor national squads fell short to Australia Wednesday evening in their third exhibition matches of the Series held at Ryerson University.
The men’s game saw the Aussies take an early 2 – 0 lead and never look back winning the game 7 – 3. Adam Ali, Micah Teixeira, and Devohn Teixeira were the goal scorers for team Canada.
The women’s game saw Jessica Buttinger, Kri Shier, and Amanda Woddcroft score for team Canada but it was not enough as the Aussies managed to win the match by a score of 5 – 3…
