Day 5:
Today we awoke to a mysterious mist engulfing La Quinta Inn. It was an earlier start because of our upcoming practice and luncheon with Team USA, breakfast at 7:45 (much to Caashia’s dismay…."Get outta ma face!!!!"). After a delicious breakfast of Greek yogurt and hard boiled eggs, we headed to the field. Practice was low key but productive and soon we were starving. With rosy cheeks (some a little bit more tomato coloured) we joined the Americans for lunch in the OTC cafeteria…

Today was full of different emotions. We started our day with a nice team run & stretch followed by breakfast. Day 2 :
Waking up to the sun was definately a happy change from the usual Canadian winter weather. Driving to the field was both exciting and suspenseful wondering what the Olympic Training Centre would look like. When we saw it, all we could say was, "Wow….I wish we had this back at home!" Training was difficult because of the heat (25 degrees), but it was great to practice as a whole Canadian Junior National Team for the first time…
NATIONAL TEAM CAMP IN THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE
Field Hockey Canada is pleased to announce an identification camp that will be held in Vancouver from June 1st to 5th. The primary focus of the camp will be to monitor, educate and the reintegrate Canadian non-domestic based athletes.

Canadian Women’s U16 Junior National Camp
Field Hockey Canada is committed to having its Women’s program consistently qualify for major competitions such as the Olympic Games and the World Cup. To ensure that this goal is reached, strategic importance has been placed on the establishment of a sustainable Junior National Team program peaking over 4 year cycles with participation in future Junior World Cups (JWC). Day 1 : "Journey Begins"
After an early start we made it to the planes and headed to San Diego. Once we arrived safely, we made our way to the hotel. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, however, it was short on the cheesecake. We are off to our first team meeting in preparation for our first day of practices in the hot sun tomorrow!!
