Field Hockey Canada is excited to announce the four Canadian masters rosters for the upcoming WMH Indoor World Cup in Nottingham, UK. The tournament is taking place at the David Ross Sports Village at the University of Nottingham from March 26-31. Field Hockey Canada will release more information like live-stream, media and schedules during the month of March. We’d like to congratulate all participants and we are looking forward to a tremendous competition.

Indoor Masters National Teams

The Canadian and American Indoor field Hockey programs will compete in the annual CanAm Indoor Hockey Series this weekend in Mt. Olive, New Jersey. The event will take place at Center Court Sport Complex in Mt. Olive. This year’s iteration will feature Canada’s U18 indoor women’s team and a senior Canadian women’s team taking on two American women’s sides.

The CanAm Indoor Series resumed in 2022 after taking a 5-year hiatus. This annual event normally features the junior, senior and masters teams for both men and women, with the host and location alternating each year between Canada and the United States. This year is a smaller rendition, only featuring two teams per country, but the tradition carries on and we wish all the best to our Canadian sides representing in New Jersey.

The 2026 CanAm Indoor Series event coordinator is Nigel Traverso. The officiating staff consists of technical delegate Aaron Dudek (USA), umpire manager Dean Wenrich (USA), technical officials Samanth Flood (USA) and Jennifer Myrth Stemerdink (CAN), and umpires Jesse Antonio Carvalho (CAN), Katie Bulk (USA), Amy Daniel (USA), and Joanne Wudrich (CAN).

Field Hockey Canada’s Women’s National Team kicks off the new year with a vital warm weather tour to South Africa from January 5 to 23, 2026. For the 24-athlete squad, this is an opportunity to prepare ahead of the 2026 World Cup Qualifier which takes place in Santiago, Chile from 1- 8th March 2026.

ROSTER ANNOUNCEMENT & TOUR PREVIEW

The tour will feature training elements and a mix of friendly matches and officially capped contests against South Africa’s national team. South Africa, ranked one place ahead of Canada, has already secured its berth for the 2026 World Cup, having won their continental qualifier. For Canada, this trip serves as an important preparation, giving time together to allow the team to refine technical and tactical elements identified during the 2025 Pan American Cup. It also provides a competitive environment to evaluate athletes and finalize selections for the World Cup Qualifier.

The 2026 FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup Qualifier is taking place in Santiago, Chile from March 1 to March 8, 2026. This is one of two World Cup Qualifiers that is taking place in women’s hockey, with the happening the next week in Hyderabad, India. From this event, there are multiple avenues for qualification for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup in Belgium & Netherlands. The two teams that make the finals will automatically qualify as will the winner of the bronze medal. After that, the highest world ranked 4th place team (between the two qualifying events) after the final day of the qualifiers, will also qualify for the World Cup. Roster and more details will be released in February, 2026.

Field Hockey Canada recently announced a recent donation of $375,000 that launched our new Power the Podium Trust Fund, a long-term philanthropic initiative designed to provide sustainable funding for Canada’s national field hockey teams. You can donate to the Power of the Podium Trust or learn more about additional donation options that also go directly to supporting our national team programs. Since our national team programs are largely dependent on funding sources from the government, sponsors and donors, as well as self-funded team levies, we focus time not only on our training efforts but fundraising to help offset the costs required to adequately participate and prepare for our competitions.

Field Hockey Canada is excited to announce the two host cities for the 2026 National Championships, Surrey, British Columbia at Tamanawis Park and Calgary, AB at the University of Calgary Hawkings Field. The U18 tournament will take place in Surrey from July 21-26, 2026, which will be followed by the U16 tournament taking place in Calgary from August 4-9, 2026.

The 2025 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup is the upcoming 31st edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, the annual men’s invitational international field hockey tournament hosted by Malaysia. It will be held at the Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh, Malaysia from 23 to 30 November 2025. Team Canada most recently attended the Azlan Shah Cup in 2024 and before that in 2019 and 2016.

TEAM CANADA O55 ROSTER

The 2025 FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup will take place in Santiago, Chile, from December 1–13, bringing together 24 under-21 national teams for the first time in an expanded format. This biennial tournament is a showcase of emerging global talent, with teams qualifying through continental championships to compete at the highest level. Hosted at the Centro Deportivo de Hockey Césped, the event promises a vibrant atmosphere and elite competition as future stars take the international stage. Team Canada returns after a challenging 2022 campaign in South Africa, where they finished 16th. In 2016, Canada placed 11th, showing resilience in a competitive field. Team Canada is building off of back-to-back World Cup qualifications and looking to make a splash in Pool E featuring Australia, Spain and Scotland.
